Inspection Engineering

Inspection Engineering is the practice of examining the physical condition of materials, components, or entire pieces of equipment in order to determine if and for how long it will operate as intended. Inspection engineers play a crucial role in any asset integrity management program of an industry. Inspection provides information about the current condition of the equipment and may provide information to validate the reliability prediction for the equipment (i.e., validate the accuracy of the equipment's remaining life estimation). Plant inspection includes a wide range of testing procedures aimed at finding the status of the mechanical integrity of the plant equipment under given operating conditions.
