Instrumentation and Control refer to the investigation, measurement, and control of industrial processes using control instruments and software. Measurements such as temperature, pressure, flow, and level are analyzed and controlled using electrical and mechanical actuators, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and automated control systems. Instrumentation and process control are at the center of all industrial and manufacturing activities. Within a facility, every process is monitored and controlled so that it is optimized and safe. Control and instrumentation engineers are responsible for designing, developing, operating, and managing instrumentation and control systems within an industry.
