Condensing Type Steam Turbine Process, Operation and Control (60MW)

Introduction:

A steam turbine is used to produce the maximum amount of mechanical power using the minimum amount of steam in a compact driver arrangement, usually in a direct-drive configuration. Condensing steam turbines are most commonly found in thermal power plants. In a condensing steam turbine, the maximum amount of energy is extracted from the steam. This is achieved by passing the exhaust steam into a condenser, which condenses the exhaust steam from the low-pressure stages of the main turbine. This course provides information about the workings of the condensing type Steam Turbine; its workings, operation, and control.
